Scholarships

In the 2004 Philippine Lasallian Convocation, the Philippine Lasallian Family agreed to step up efforts towards ensuring equitable access to Lasallian education. The De La Salle Schools were mandated to explore and implement initiatives that would allow needy current and prospective students to continue or pursue the holistic and quality education offered by Lasallian educational institutions.

In line with the Convocation resolution, and an earlier Ministry Action Plan for the Lasallian Family Synod of 1999 to expand the access to Lasallian education, De La Salle Santiago Zobel (DLSZ) offers a number of student scholarship grants for incoming Grade 5 to high school students.

 

In this regard, DLSZ has formulated an expanded Scholarship and Financial Assistance Program (SFAP) with the following objectives:

  • To provide financial assistance to academically competent but financially challenged students and applicants
  • To provide incentives to those who show excellence in academics, the performing arts, leadership/community service, and sports.

 

The DLSZ Scholarship and Financial Assistance Program offers the following grants:

Br. Andrew Gonzalez FSC Academic Scholarship

The Br. Andrew Gonzalez FSC Academic Scholarship is granted to the top five (5) students of each batch from Grade 5 to Grade 10 awarded in the Honors’ Convocation. 

Br. Ceci Hojilla FSC Athletic Scholarship

The Br. Ceci Hojilla FSC Athletic Scholarship is open to Grade 8 – Grade 12 students who exhibit exceptional skill in any sport.

St. Br. Miguel Febres Cordero Arts Scholarship

The St. Br. Miguel Febres Cordero Arts Scholarship is open to Grade 9 – Grade 12 students who exhibit exceptional talent in music, theater, dance, visual arts, and publication. 

Br. Rafael Donato FSC Leadership Scholarship

The Br. Rafael Donato FSC Leadership Scholarship is open to Grade 9 – Grade 12 students who manifest exceptional leadership abilities and active community service. 

Centennial Star Scholarship

The Centennial Star Scholarship was launched in celebration of the centenary of Lasallian presence in the Philippines.  Starting 2011, DLSZ has granted educational assistance to two (2) public school graduates to avail of a Lasallian education under this scholarship. 

Br. V. Felix Masson FSC Student Financial Assistance

The Br. V. Felix Masson FSC Student Financial Assistance may be granted to deserving Grade 5 to High School students of DLSZ.  This grant may be availed for a maximum of two academic years subject to a review of the family’s conditions that warrant financial support.

Debbie Decena Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship grant is open to all Grade 9 – Grade 12 students and shall cover the full cost of tuition, miscellaneous, specific school fees, cost of books and the school uniform.

Francis Luis B. Perlas Scholarship

This scholarship grant is open to all Grade 9 – Grade 12 students and shall cover 100% of tuition fee.

Scholarships for Children of Military Personnel

Pursuant to PD 577 and PD 1687, the school shall be granting scholarships to children of military personnel as stipulated below: 

  • Presidential Decree 577 (PD 577) Scholarship – For any one child of a military personnel who has died or was incapacitated in line of duty.
  • Presidential Decree 1687 (PD 1687) Scholarship – For any one child of a military personnel who has been awarded medal of valor.

Family Tuition Discount

Families with four or more children enrolled in De La Salle Santiago Zobel School shall be afforded a tuition fee discount for the eldest child. 

Brother President Scholarship Program (BPSP)

The Brother President Scholarship Program is open to qualified children of permanent / regular employees who have rendered at least three (3) years of satisfactory service in DLSZ.

Note:

  • Scholarship grants may be availed after a year of residency in school corresponding to the level required for the type of scholarship.
  • All scholarship grants are renewable every year.
  • The Br. Andrew Gonzales Academic Scholarship grantees need not apply.
  • Applicants to the Debbie Decena Memorial Scholarship should email the Debbie Decena Memorial Foundation President, Mr. Dennis Decena, at ddd@pacific.net.ph.
  • BPSP grantees may also apply in any scholarship except the Br. V. Felix Masson FSC Financial Assistance.
  • Only one (1) Student Financial Assistance is granted per family.
  • Only one (1) applicant per family may be considered for each type of scholarship.
  • The scholarship grant that provides the higher tuition discount will be considered and not the aggregate equivalent for those qualified to more than one (1) type of grant.
  • Percentage of discount shall be computed based on the available scholarship fund for the academic year.
