Congratulations to Zeia Marix Pua (DLSZ 2030) of the DLSZ GRADE SCHOOL Chess Team for winning the Silver Medal in the Division Meet held last February 15-16, 2024 in Muntinlupa Elementary School, Muntinlupa City.
Zeia is now the Muntinlupa Representative for the coming NCR Regional Meet happening on April 22-26, 2024.
As part of her day-to-day training, Zeia shares that she commits herself in playing online chess rounds, solving chess puzzle, and watching online videos about the different traps and openings analyzed by international and grandmasters. She also acknowledges that her coach has helped her a lot in this journey. “Training was tough, but all the hard work helped get me this far,” added Zeia.
“My determination comes from my will to qualify for national/international competitions such as the Palarong Pambansa. I welcome the challenge of tough competition by trying to be the best version of myself. If I’ve made it this far, then surely I can climb higher by continuously improving myself, with the support of my coach and team.”
Along with Zeia, we would like to acknowledge the efforts of the entire DLSZ Grade School Chess Team who also competed in the Division Meet:

Kudos to Coach Jodi Fronda for her hard work and determination during their training and team practices. Moving forward, the Chess Team will continue to train for the upcoming open tournaments this summer.
