Witness the incredible journey of the De La Salle Zobel Junior Spikers (Boys Volleyball Team), the ‘Magic Seven,’ as they seize the Gold Medal at the Division Meet held last February 15–16, 2024 at Muntinlupa Elementary School, earning the honor to represent Muntinlupa City in the upcoming regional competition.

In a nail-biting best-of-three finals series against Tunasan National High School, the Magic Seven faced adversity after a challenging loss in the opening game. The team didn’t give up, showing strong resilience in game 2 with a final score of 2-1. This comeback revealed their determined spirit and smart playing. The energy continued into game 3, where the Magic Seven won again with a score of 2-1, securing the Gold Medal through a powerful 1-2 play by Mario and Chris, the dynamic duo.

The “Magic Seven” team is composed of the following  student-athletes:

  1. Kyle Nicholas Aure (DLSZ 2026)
  2. Joeniel Erj Bergantin (DLSZ BRafeNHS 2025)

“The overall performance of a team that loses the first game but comes back to win games 2 and 3 can be seen as resilient, determined, and adaptable. It shows that the team is capable of learning from their mistakes, making necessary adjustments, and maintaining composure under pressure. We are so proud of each and everyone one’s efforts and hard work. They have earned the title to be rightfully called champions.” team manager, Ms. Joy Papa shares.

“Teamwork is the secret that made the DLSZ Boys Volleyball Team Magic 7 achieve uncommon results. A winner never stops trying. In each game, the team was able to adopt a positive tone, highlight the good, and offer solutions for the not-so-good. Kudos also to Coach Ron who never gave up on the team despite the tough game they faced. It was a well-deserved victory for the Magic 7!” proud parent, Ms. Anna Dumana shares.

Now, as they prepare to grace the regional stage, the Magic Seven stands as a beacon of Muntinlupa City’s athletic prowess and determination.
