The Grade 12 students of the HUMSS strand are proud to present KINAIYA II, a virtual book launching for the literary publication of the HUMSS students entitled, Kinaiya: Mind Intersecting Reality. The word kinaiya means a person’s state of mind and the complexities that make up who they are— a concept that the HUMSS ‘22 students aim to explore in this two-part program. Mind Intersecting Reality will showcase the inner artists within the HUMSS students as they present their thoughts about how one’s mental health affects their reality. The exhibit will showcase the creative works of the students in the form of poetry, prose, essays, and posters that present the two sides of Kinaiya: Solitude & Tranquility, and Discord & Gravity. Each entry is a symbol of a student’s individuality and uniqueness in how they would wish to express themselves, while still remaining coherent to the theme of youth and mental health. The fusion of the mind of a HUMSS student along with artistic and creative abilities can only bring about one thing: creative masterpieces that hit the mark with our audiences.
The exhibit will take place on September 23, Thursday, at 2 p.m. while the release of the e-book will be two days prior. Mark your calendars for this must-see exhibit as this event will not only showcase the excellence of the HUMSS ‘22 students. The event will be sponsored by Gsquare Business Consultancy, including co-sponsorships from Basic Energy Corporation, Foresight Interactive Solutions, Inc., and SCSC General Merchandise, in which all of the proceeds are to be given to ALPAS, a school fundraising project that collects old and unused gadgets for the use of our fellow BRafeNHS members in this Online Distance Learning setup. This is in line with the Lasallian value of Zeal for the Service of others in our communities as HUMSS students dedicate their creative talents and skills for the benefit of others.
The students have worked hard to present an e-book and exhibit that stays true to embracing one’s inner complexities while empowering those who struggle to express themselves in front of the world. Through superb leadership from both teachers and appointed student leaders, as well as close collaboration between the sections and students, Kinaiya: Mind Intersecting Reality will hope to transform your reality into a positive and enjoyable one, even for just a moment.
