Congratulations to the Goals of Excellence in Mathematics (GEM) grade 7 team for having won Second Place in the recently concluded Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge 2013 Area Finals held last February 9, 2013 at the Divine Light Academy.
Composed of Alyssa Guevara, Job Andre Mingoa, and Bianca Shareena Reforma, the grade 7 team was also able to compete in the Sectoral and Regional Level.
Congratulations also to the following GEM members who were recognized for being among the top scorers among all the students who took the written examination during the elimination round:
- Grade 2: Martin Gabriel Yulo – Third Honors
- Grade 6: Jared Adriel Elamparo – First Honors and Julia Nicole Saulog – Third Honors
- Grade 7: Alyssa Guevara – Third Honors
Yulo, Elamparo and Guevara also qualified in the Individual Finals. In this round, they answered another set of written test. Guevara emerged Top 7 in the Sectoral Level and Top 8 in the Regional Level.
Hats off to the GEM coaches, Ms. Angel Corbillon (Grade 1), Ms. Niña de Jesus (Grade 2), Ms. Lulu Tejero (Grade 3), Mr. Harold Ceradoy (Grade 4), Ms. Maritri Africa (Grade 5), Ms. Linda Naputo (Grade 6) and Mr. Jun Acopiado (Grade 7), for motivating and training the students to give their very best at all times.
