Our DLSZ Symphonic band received a SILVER AWARD in the concluded 32nd Pacific Basin Music Festival held last March 25 – 30, 2017 at Honolulu, Hawaii, USA.
The group that is composed of forty-four (44) students from Grade 5 to 4th year high school, competed with other symphonic bands from all over the world. During the festival, the group performed in an outdoor concert, attended band workshops and participated in an exchange program among other events. The DLSZ Symphonic Band was the only group awarded with the commissioned piece that was performed during the final festival concert.
Their competitors were from different high school and college bands from the USA, Australia and New Zealand. The DLSZ Symphonic Band was the only Asian band who participated in the festival. The group is mentored by our patient and hardworking band teachers, Ms. Nena Chavez and Mr. Linwell Lalic.
