The halls of MusicFest Canada 2025 in Ontario resonated with the harmonious melodies and outstanding talent of the De La Salle Santiago Zobel (DLSZ) Strings, who not only captivated audiences but also brought immense pride to their school and country from May 12 to 17, 2025.
Their musical journey culminated in a remarkable achievement: a Gold Award in the prestigious festival, along with the highest performance award for the entire festival and workshop.
The DLSZ Strings delivered an excellent performance, showcasing not only their exceptional musical prowess but also embodying core Lasallian values and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Their dedication and hard work were evident in every note, leaving a lasting impression on judges and fellow participants alike.

“The experience was truly wonderful,” shared one of the accompanying faculty members. “Our students were able to demonstrate their incredible talent, all while representing the spirit of Lasallian education – rooted in faith, service, and community. Their discipline and passion for music shone brightly.”
Juliana Morales (DLSZ 2029), a first-timer with the competing group, shared her heartfelt testimony—a beautiful story of faith, patience, and quiet strength. Reflecting on her experience filled with many “firsts” and unexpected lessons, she recalls moments of uncertainty and self-doubt. “There were times when we questioned ourselves and wondered how the judges would perceive our work. But deep inside, I chose to trust—not in my own strength, but in the unwavering grace of God. For only He can make the impossible, possible.”
Beyond the accolades, the DLSZ Strings embraced the opportunity to share their talents, serving as proud ambassadors for DLSZ and the Philippines on an international stage. This not only enriched their own musical journey but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and cultural exchange within the festival.
The entire DLSZ community beams with pride at the accomplishments of the DLSZ Strings. This extraordinary achievement is a testament to the students’ dedication, the tireless efforts of their coaches and mentors, and the unwavering support of the DLSZ administration, parents, friends, and all those who extended their best wishes.
