Before facing and ultimately beating San Beda Alabang in the finals for the PRISAA Tournament, the DLSZ High School Girls Volleyball Team first conquered their adversaries from Lyceum of Alabang and Southernside Montessori School in the elimination rounds. DLSZ’s journey to the championship started with an unrelenting performance in the elimination round, where they faced some of the toughest teams in the tournament. They easily defeated Mary Cause of our Joy School (MCJCS), San Beda Alabang, South Crest School (SCS), Lyceum of Alabang (LOA), and Our Lady of the Lake School (OLLS), with each victory reinforcing their status as the team to beat. The squad showcased exceptional skills across all aspects of the game, including powerful attacks, solid defensive plays, and excellent communication on the court.
The stage was set for a thrilling final showdown last December 1, 2024, as DLSZ took on SBC Alabang for the championship. The girls brought their A-game, sweeping SBC Alabang in straight sets, 3-0, and showing their dominance across all facets of the game. From the first serve to the final point, DLSZ’s offense was clinical, their defense was impenetrable, and their team chemistry was flawless.
The team’s championship run was built on the collective effort of the entire squad, with standout performances from various players throughout the tournament. The combination of powerful spiking, tactical setting, and exceptional defense made the difference in every match. Additionally, DLSZ’s mental toughness under pressure proved crucial, particularly in high-stakes moments during the semifinal and finals.
Their unwavering commitment to excellence and their ability to work as a cohesive unit with the support and guidance of Coach Justin Alonzo and Coach Jeremiah Monreal has not only earned them the title but also earned them the admiration of their peers, parents, and competitors.
