The De La Salle Santiago Zobel (DLSZ) Rondalla received the prestigious Gold Award held on June 10, 2024, at the Walt Disney Concert Hall before world-renowned adjudicators.
Comprising of Grade School and High School students from the DLSZ Special Music Program, the Rondalla is dedicated to showcasing the rich cultural heritage and exceptional musical talents of the Filipino youth.
Their performance included Carmen Overture arr. by Alfredo Buenaventura, Palladio arr. by Elaine Espejo-Cajucom, Lulay arr. by Jerry Dadap, Rondo (festival commissioned piece) arr. by Alec Schumacker and Disney Medley arr. by Jet Samaniego, all of which were warmly received by the audience.
The group is led by Ms. Lynette Feliciano, Head of the Cultural Affairs Office, with Mr. Philip Dagang, Rondalla Conductor, and Mr. Linwell Lalic, Symphonic Band teacher.
