DLSZ students win 2nd runner-up in the 2023 Muntinlupa City Robotics Fair and Exhibits

The DLSZ students comprising of the Robotics Elite Team and STEM Team won 2nd runner-up as they impressively demonstrated their innovative and academic prowess during the 2023 Muntinlupa City Robotics Fair and Exhibits with the theme, “Harnessing Industry 5.0 through Human-AI Collaboration toward Smart, Green, and Sustainable Development” held last November 14-16, 2023 at Colegio De Muntinlupa, Muntinlupa City.

Over nine (9) advanced innovative entries from different colleges and institutions in the country, the Innovation Team also known as the Robotics Elite Team, which included Dominic Leo Ramos (2024), Robert Zachary Santos (2024), and Amanda Reign Ramos (2027) and Robotics Coach, Ms. Rica Marie Paming, emerged victorious in the advanced-level prototype innovation competition.

In three days, they were evaluated as they presented, Alternative Energy Nexus (ALENNE) to a variety of audiences, including DOST NCR, college professors, teachers, engineers, and students from elementary school to college. ALENNE is a facility that uses various energy sources (biofuel, solar, and hydropower) to generate power cleanly and efficiently for everyone. 

Furthermore, the STEM Team, comprising of  Mikhael Darryl  Ac-Ac (DLSZ 2024), Joshua Daniel Ang (DLSZ 2025), and Juan Lorenzo De Jesus (DLSZ 2024) with their Coach, Mr. Carl Maurice Francisco, also won 2nd runner-up over 11 participating schools nationwide.

The quiz bee was divided into two (2) rounds: the ELIMINATION ROUND (easy, average, and difficult level), and the FINAL ROUND (categories).

In the elimination round, DLSZ garnered 72 points which made the team part of the Top 6 and final round. The teams from different schools battled their wits in questions based on different categories of Mathematics, Science, DOST, and Muntinlupa City trivia through a modified quiz bee-type (i.e., varying categories with a random score system, and score multipliers). The teams won medals, certificates, cash prizes, and a Robokit#2: Intermediate Course.
