GS Science Coordinator is Presenter in ARAL 2015's First National Congress on Action Research

Ms. Genevieve Arizala-Pillar, Grade School Science Coordinator, presented a research paper in the Action Research, Action Learning or ARAL’s First National Congress on Action Research in Education. Three hundred fifty participants from all over the country attended this event in De La Salle University on February 27-28, 2015.
Ms. Pillar’s paper is entitled, “Developing Scientific Reasoning Skills Using Interactive Applications. The purpose of this study was to determine how interactive applications affect students’ development of scientific reasoning for the topic of plant propagation in a constructivist classroom setting.
The study showed that students’ scientific reasoning skills can be developed using interactive applications. It also proved that a well-designed plan using interactive applications can facilitate development of the students’ scientific reasoning skills in learning plant propagation. It is further recommended that such technology tools be widely used also in other learning areas.
Ms. Pillar’s study promoted creative thinking, self-directed learning, and mastery through varied technologies.
