DLSZ’s official high school student publication, Counterpoint, was awarded as the Best News Website (English) by the Manila Times College in the first Campus Press Awards. The awarding ceremony was held at Discovery Suites Manila on Wednesday, March 14.
Counterpoint’s Editor-in-Chief, Lianna Francesca Cabigas (DLSZ 2018), Social Media Manager, Joshua Rich Valentin (DLSZ 2019), Head Layout Editor, Julia Nicole Saulog (DLSZ 2018) and moderator, Mrs. Wilma Renolayan accepted the award during the ceremony.
“We were just looking for a way to keep the students updated since we only release three issues a year, and I’m glad that we got an award from the oldest newspaper in the Philippines because of it,” Cabigas shared. “I’m really happy that our publication is finally gaining recognition for our hard work.”
The big wigs of The Manila Times were also present during the event, including CEO and President Dante “Klink” Ang II, and Chairman of the Board for the Manila Times College, Dr. Dante A. Ang, Sr.
Many of the awardees came from other La Salle schools.
