Lots of cheers to the Grades 1-6 MTAP Teams of DLSZ for their impressive performance in the Team Sectoral Finals of the prominent Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge 2017 held last March 22, 2017 in MGC New Life Christian Academy, Taguig.
The teams competed with all other qualified schools in the Private Sector of the National Capital Region.
The Grade 1 team members Matt Gerard Navarro (DLSZ 2028), Jacob Eulogio Rodriguez IV (DLSZ 2028), and Johan Gabriel Pantoni (DLSZ 2028) were able to finish second place in the said contest after landing on a score 55 out of 60. They won silver medals and a trophy.
The Grade 2 team consisting of Emmanuel Jace Savellano (DLSZ 2027), Gian Nicolas Casimiro (DLSZ 2027), and Aldrich Johan Kimwell (DLSZ 2027) were able to hit the seventh spot out of 29 competing schools in a score 40 out of 60.
The Grade 3 team consisting of Jacob Bernas (DLSZ 2026), Julia Bernadette Cruz (DLSZ 2026) and Gael Azure Ilano (DLSZ 2026) ranked fifth out of the 16 challenging schools, and is tied with Saint Jude Catholic School in a score 53 out 60.
The Grade 5 team with members Christian Gendrano (DLSZ 2024), John Eulogio Rodriguez III (DLSZ 2024), and Yohance Hayden Sarmiento (DLSZ 2024) landed seventh among the competing schools with the score 37 out of 60.
The Grade 6 team members Chelsea Lianne Gomez (DLSZ 2023) and Martin Johan Ocho (DLSZ 2023) made it to the seventh place out of 21 competing schools. They got a score of 47 out of 60.
Our MTAP Teams for Grades 1, 2, 3, and 5 are set to compete for the Team Regional Finals of the Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge 2017 on March 27, 2017 at Eusebio High School in Pasig City. The Grade 6 team will compete on the same competition on March 31, 2017 at MGC New Life Christian Academy in Taguig.
They were trained by their coach, Mr Charlie Amarela, under the Goals for Excellence in Mathematics (GEM) Program of the Grade School Mathematics Unit.
