DLSZ proudly acknowledges the participation of our fencing students in the Cadet, Juniors, and Seniors PFA Ranking, held last October 26-27 at the PhilSports Arena, Pasig City.
In the Cadet Sabre category, Vito Coching (DLSZ 2026) had a strong performance, winning all his pool bouts and finishing 2nd after the preliminaries. However, his journey ended in the semifinal round against a tough opponent from UST. He finished 3rd overall after defeating his opponent from ADMU with a score of 15- 9.

In the Juniors Foil event, Martina Baccay (DLSZ 2027) delivered an impressive performance, winning a Bronze medal. She won 4 out of 5 bouts in the pool stage, placing 6th after pools. In the knockout rounds, she defeated CF and won another close match against RF to advance to the semifinals. However, she was stopped by a National Team member in the semifinals. Additionally, Miyake Capina ranked 12th Place.
Recap of 6th Leg of Seniors PFA Ranking (September)
In September, our fencers competed in the 6th Leg of the Seniors PFA Ranking. Miyake Capina (DLSZ 2027) earned a Bronze medal after winning all her pool bouts and ranking 2nd overall. After defeating her opponent from CF club, she advanced to the semifinals but narrowly missed the finals after losing to a National Team member. Additionally, Vito Coching (DLSZ 2026) ranked 26th Place and Martina Baccay (DLSZ 2027) ranked 11th Place.
PFA 7th and Final Seniors Ranking
The final leg for the Seniors took place last Sunday, November 10th, at Ultra.
Women’s Foil

Men’s Sabre
* Vito Coching (DLSZ 2026) – 19th place
This Seniors Rankings will determine the National Team Members for 2025, with the official announcement expected at the end of this year or in January 2025.
