Naima Navarro, the Team Captain, shares that the team is supporting each other and providing encouragement to push forward during challenges. One of their strengths is their close-knit bond. “Whenever our coaches have us run or undergo tough training sessions, and we feel exhausted, the team always motivates each other to persevere,” she explains. “This demonstrates that our team excels not only in skills but also in team spirit.”

On the other hand, Erica Mae De Luna (DLSZ 2025), named Most Valuable Player during the  SJBL Finals, finds inspiration in the thrill of competition and the constant pursuit of improvement. She also acknowledges the unwavering support of her family, who have been there for her since she first started playing at DLSZ.

“As I approach my final year in the upcoming academic year 24-25, I am filled with anticipation and excitement,” she shares. “I eagerly anticipate maximizing my last season in representing my school, leaving a lasting impact on the team, and contributing to our collective success. Additionally, I am enthusiastic about assuming leadership roles and guiding younger teammates, passing on the knowledge and experience I have acquired throughout my athletic journey. I am driven to make my final year as a student-athlete memorable and meaningful, both for myself and for the team,” she concludes.

Hats off to their Coach Louie Fernandez and the whole coaching staff, and to all the players. Animo La Salle!
