The DLSZ 12U Basketball Boys were crowned as Champions in the Inter-Scholastic Sports Association (ISSA) Competition 2023 with an 82-69 victory over Xavier School in the finals held last February 4, 2023, in San Juan, Metro Manila.

DLSZ made a huge comeback in the finals after losing their first match against Xavier School in the elimination round held last November 19, 2022.  Since then, the team had put more effort into winning the 12U High School Boys division through back-to-back training sessions after school hours. The players swept all four competing schools in the elimination and semifinal rounds, earning their berth in the finals, where DLSZ faced Xavier School once more in the title match. DLSZ won by a whopping 12-point lead denying the opponent’s home-court advantage.
