Congratulations to the De La Salle Santiago Zobel Strings for receiving the following: GOLD with HONOURS– the Highest Award distinction, the Gold Award, The Silver Award, The Elite Award, and the Excellent Performance Award in the Instrumental Ensemble Category at the Singapore Raffles International Music Festival (SRIMF) held virtually via Facebook and YouTube last August 12, 2022.
The Singapore Raffles International Music Festival (SRIMF) presents a global music festival for young, ardent, and developing musicians where they can compete and show off their musical abilities, and foster connections with peers and mentors.
The SRIMF competition series has drawn a great number of young musicians, teachers, and parents from various nations over the past eight (8) years. This August 2022, the SRIMF organizers have decided to hold both live and virtual music competitions. More than 800 participants and their families, from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Australia, Germany and Switzerland, took part in this event.
The DLSZ Strings organized seven (7) groups to participate in the virtual strings competition and all made it to the final round. Two students, Sage Martina A. Espiritu (DLSZ 2025) and Carlos Gabriel G. Aquino (DLSZ 2023) also won in their solo competitions.
