Year 2020 brought much dismay to the baseball community with games at a halt, but shedding light to the DLSZ sports department amidst the pandemic, was the recent declaration of De La Salle Zobel’s Coach Pitch team as the champion of Kapatiran Cup 2020.
The recognition was a fitting finish for the team, with most members moving up to the Minors level. The championship win is a big boost to the young athletes that strengthened their brotherhood, as they await their big reunion, when the junior members reach the qualifying age to be with their older team mates.
The DLSZ Coach Pitch baseball team led by veteran Coach Ronnie Lugay, and assistant coach John Soriano, bested other teams from Southridge School, Philippine Bazooka, Bayanan Mariners and Entom.
The boys poured their hearts into each play, while synergizing their defense, making each game truly a remarkable achievement.
