‘Team Jukechi’ composed of Chiara Felicia Gabrielle Amisola (DLSZ 2018) Keith Randall Leonardo (DLSZ 2018) and Steven Leroy Bulaong (DLSZ 2019) placed third in the last Microsoft Imagine Cup PH last March 5, 2018 at the Microsoft Philippines Headquarters, Ayala Avenue, Makati City. The team competed against four (4) Computer Science teams from Technological Institute of the Philippines and was the only Senior High School Team that made the cut for the national finals.
The team presented a web application called ‘Batid’ which acts as an information tool to report real-time incidents in a specific vicinity. The web application is inspired to aid government and the immediate community in answering disaster and risk reduction incidents.
The Microsoft Imagine Cup is global competition that empowers the next generation of computer science students to team up and use their creativity, passion and knowledge of technology to create applications that shape how we live, work and play. Participants of the event are encouraged to develop incredible, world-changing software innovations that are not limited to social networks, music services, photo apps, games, gadgets and robotics which can aid in answering immediate community or social problems. The winner of the Microsoft Imagine Cup wins $100,000, mentorship opportunities with industry leaders, and a Microsoft Azure grant and cash.
