The Office of the School Principal is dedicated to ensuring the effective leadership, supervision, and development of the school’s academic programs, aligning decisions, policies, and initiatives with the institution’s educational philosophy and mission. The School Principal is accountable for overseeing curriculum, instruction, teacher training, and student learning outcomes, working to ensure the delivery of a high-quality educational experience for all students from Pre-Kinder to Grade 12, both Day and Night School.
As the primary academic leader, the School Principal supervises the Associate Principals for Learning Standards, Learning Management, and Learner Formation. This oversight includes guiding curriculum development, instructional strategies, operations, and student formation. The School Principal is also responsible for creating personalized, safe, and orderly learning environments that support both teaching and learning.
In addition, the School Principal supervises the Directors for Academic Services and Lasallian Formation and Mission. The mission of the Academic Services Department is to provide and utilize technological and human resources that facilitate learning and ensure the efficient delivery of these services. While the Lasallian Formation and Mission Department commits to assuring the vitality and continuity of the Founder’s mission in the DLSZ community by providing a genuine formation to all its members, especially to the students entrusted to our care.
In collaboration with external partners and families, the School Principal fosters productive relationships that support the fulfillment of the school’s goals, ensuring that all students achieve academic success based on high standards.
The School Principal also plays a key role in shaping the school’s vision and creating an atmosphere conducive to education, marked by a safe and cooperative environment. A core aspect of the role is cultivating leadership within the school community, empowering teachers and staff to take active roles in realizing the school’s mission.
In addition to these responsibilities, the School Principal manages people, data, resources, and processes to ensure continuous improvement, effective leadership, and prudent stewardship, consistently focusing on enhancing teaching and maximizing student learning outcomes.
Directly under the leadership of the School Principal is the SPARKEd Center.
SPARKED CENTER
The SPARKEd Center was established in 2016 under the supervision of the Executive Office, headed by DLSZ President Br. Bernard S. Oca FSC. It aims to strengthen educational initiatives and innovations to make learning more efficient, inclusive, relevant, and engaging for students. Additionally, it was envisioned to continue the mission of the school’s founder, St. John Baptist de La Salle, to train and mentor teachers.
As an accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provider, the SPARKEd Center is a hub of educational training, offering a wealth of opportunities for teachers to enhance their knowledge and skills. Our seminars and workshops in curriculum development, education technology, teaching strategies, and instruction are designed to empower educators and contribute to the advancement of Philippine education. The school partnership programs of the SPARKEd Center include the following:
- Curricular professional development programs through workshops, training, and webinars (CPD and non-CPD);
- Online and onsite seminar workshops and training sessions;
- Custom training and mentoring programs for faculty; and
- Consultancy and subscription services.
The SPARKEd Center thrives on collaboration, recognizing the collective strength of partnerships. The center is proud to work hand in hand with esteemed technology and government institutions such as Microsoft, Power Mac Center, Instructure (Canvas), Department of Education, and Professional Regulatory Commission, among others. These partnerships are the lifeblood of the institution’ programs, which are designed to make a positive impact on teachers and education partners.
