Congratulations to the Grade School Basketball Junior Archers on bagging the championship in the  2026 Private School Athletic Association (PRISAA)  Basketball Tournament on October 5, 2026 at San Beda College Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

In the championship game, teamwork and determination were the key factors to their success as they won the title against San Beda Alabang Red Cubs with a commanding 83-37 victory. Liam Villarruz (DLSZ 2033) top-scored with 19 points, while floor generals Isaac Tabu (DLSZ 2033) and Carlos Panaligan (DLSZ 2033) scored 14 points each, and Alonzo Ahmee (DLSZ 2033) finished with 13 points.

Sticking to their identity as a cohesive team, all of the players aside from the top four (4) scorers contributed and gave their all-out effort. Starting guard Joakim Castro (DLSZ 2033) and starting center Daven Sebastian (DLSZ 2033) were solid on both offense and defense. Spark plug guards Sandro Santos (DLSZ 2034), Lamarcus Aclan (DLSZ 2033), and rebounding specialist big men Wayden Rivera (DLSZ 2033) and Juano Reinoso (DLSZ 2033) gave instant energy off the bench, including twin towers Joaquin Dauz (DLSZ 2033) and Toby Rudesill (DLSZ 2034), who controlled the paint with their tenacious defense, rebounding, and hustle.

The score was close at the beginning of the game, with only a three (3) point DLSZ lead, 19-16 at the end of the 1st quarter. But in the 2nd quarter, the Junior Archers stepped on the pedal and started building up their lead to 20 points 48-28, and it further ballooned to a 30-point advantage at the end of the 3rd quarter, 62-32. In the final quarter, the lead increased to 46 points, and in the last 15 seconds of the ballgame, DLSZ held the ball, dribbled through and did not take an attempt anymore as a sign of courtesy and respect to their opponents.

Head Coach Bryle Orog and Assistant Coach Lance Ingco guided the team and managed to be undefeated throughout the whole tournament. Isaac Tabu and Liam Villarruz won individual tournament awards as part of the Mythical Five selection, and  Carlos Panaligan was hailed Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP). The entire team felt the support from their parents, relatives, friends, and DLSZ Administrators led by Senior Vice President Mr. Rafael Reloza, Ms. Geriz Bigol Lasallian Formation and Mission Department Director, and Sports Development Office Officer-in-Charge Ms. Lani Del Rosario, who cheered the entire game relentlessly.

At the end, it was all about the team. The entire team, with the coaches working together as one and living the Lasallian values as their guide to success. Animo!
