Congratulations to the DLSZ Robotics Elite Team for securing 3rd Place at the FIRST™ LEGO™ League Asia Open Championship, held from August 13–16, 2026, in Beijing, China.

Outshining 500 teams from over 30 participating countries, the “TEQ Crew” Rafael Enrique Domingo (DLSZ 2034), Antonio Mangubat (DLSZ 2034), Adrien Matthias Adrales (DLSZ 2035), and Lucien Garcia (DLSZ 2037)— together with their coach, Mr. Norlito Bautista (JHS Robotics Faculty), answered a massive global challenge under the tournament theme, “Unearthed.” 

Despite humanity’s rapid progress in science and technology, much of our world remains a mystery, with experts estimating that 90% of the world’s archaeological sites are yet to be discovered. For these DLSZ students, this gap in exploration is more than a challenge—it is a call to innovate and help archaeologists uncover more of the world’s history.

Their groundbreaking concept, ArchaeoGo, is a portable smart archaeology toolkit designed to help archaeologists explore, locate, and analyze archaeological sites more efficiently and safely. Designed to fit into a single backpack, it integrates modern technologies such as drones, LiDAR, infrared imaging, ground-penetrating radar (GPR), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), spectroscopy, and artificial intelligence. Working together, these technologies can map and scan sites, detect and analyze buried artifacts, support more careful excavation, and interpret collected data—reducing unnecessary digging while helping archaeologists uncover and preserve the Philippines’ hidden history.

“We really enjoyed the process of creating this project, especially working together as a team. We gave our best at every stage—from developing the concept and building the model to presenting our project to the judges during the competition,” Rafa (DLSZ 2034) shared in an interview following the awarding ceremony.

“What made this journey even more meaningful was the friendship we built along the way. We would also like to express our appreciation to our coaches, who guided and supported us throughout the development of the project, and to our parents, who gave us their full support before and during the competition,” Anton (DLSZ 2034) added.

As countless stories wait to be told, ancient caves to be explored, and weathered rocks to be turned, ArchaeoGo points to a future where technology helps archaeologists uncover the past without compromising it. For TEQ Crew, innovation means giving history a voice while preserving the places and stories that make it worth remembering.
