This year’s speech prompt invites students to reflect on the reality of leadership—that while it can sometimes feel easy, there are moments when it becomes uncomfortable or even frightening. They were challenged to share a personal experience where choosing what was right was not the most popular or easiest decision, whether at school, with friends, in their community, or at home. Through their stories, they reveal the heart of true leadership: standing firm in values even when it is difficult.
