Congratulations to our DLSZ Lawn Tennis Team for winning the following competitions this Academic Year 2025-2026:

56th WNCAA

The DLSZ Tennis Team won its 12th consecutive WNCAA Championship last February 7 and 11, 2026 at the Miriam Tennis Court in Quezon City. One of the highlights of the competition was the team bringing home the Most Valuable Player award, earned by Jana Jelena Nicole Diaz (DLSZ BRafeNHS 2027). She shares, “As one of the seniors, I would be lying if I said that there was no pressure, because we really wanted to keep our record. Through the guidance of our coach, we were able to give our best and pour our hearts out on the court, all while not forgetting that we also needed to enjoy our time playing against the other schools and supporting our own team. Additionally, our 12-peat is incredibly surreal, and being named MVP was just an extra achievement for me—it shows how much I can achieve when I am with the right people.”

Inter-school Tennis Association (ISTA)

The tournaments took place from November 2025 to February 2026 across different divisions. It was held at the International School Manila (ISM) tennis courts in Taguig City and Colegio San Agustin (CSA) in Makati City.

Rather than letting a missed championship define them, the players leaned into the experience, meeting every challenge with a signature grit. Their season-long dedication proved that character, not just trophies, defines a champion.

During the competition, the team fell a bit short. “We gave it our all on the court, but of course, our opponents did the same,” shares Jana Jelena Nicole Diaz (DLSZ BRafeNHS 2027). The pressure was there for both sides, and every match they played was close, which showed how hard they fought and how much they were willing to give.

“It was disappointing not to finish the way we had hoped, but we understand that this experience will only make us stronger and better players moving forward,” added Jana.

Reaching the finals is still an achievement that the team proudly embraces, and one they are truly grateful for.
