Congratulations to five (5) exceptional Lasallians who qualified in the Area Stage of the Philippine Mathematical Olympiad (PMO) last December 13, 2025 in De La Salle University- Dasmariñas, Cavite.
PMO is known to be the most prestigious mathematics competition in the country. Only 300 out of 6,000 participants in the Qualifying Stage last October advanced to the Area Stage. The competition draws participants from the strongest science high schools and private institutions across the Philippines, making success in the competition a nationally recognized academic distinction. They were able to achieve the cut-off score in the gruelling 3-hour written test.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Jacob Bernas (DLSZ 2026), Juan Sebastian Viernes (DLSZ 2026), Jacob Enrico De Jesus (DLSZ 2027), Juan Mateo Sim Villavicencio (DLSZ 2027), and Aldrei Carlo Hizon (DLSZ 2027) for this remarkable feat.
We wish our young mathematicians the very best as they strive to be among the top 20 national qualifiers. The result of the Area Stage last December 13 will determine the top 20 qualifiers in the National Stage this February 2026.
May they continue to be a source of pride for our community, remaining steadfast in their mission to serve God and country through their achievements.
Animo La Salle!
