The DLSZ Mathletes from the Goals of Excellence in Mathematics (GEM) program proudly showcased their talent on the international stage, earning a trophy, 12 Gold, 12 Silver, and 6 Bronze medals at the prestigious Philippine International Mathematics Competition (PhIMO) held last September 19-22, 2025 in Cebu City.
This year’s competition brought together thousands of outstanding young mathematicians from Australia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Gabriel Subion (DLSZ 2034) distinguished himself as a podium finisher, earning the First Runner-Up trophy in the same competition—a rare honor reserved for the top three (3) participants. Showcasing exceptional mathematical skill, he outperformed 231 competitors from the participating countries.
