The De La Salle Santiago Zobel (DLSZ) Rondalla has once more demonstrated excellence, earning the renowned Gold Award in the Australian International Music Festival held on July 11, 2025. The Australian International Music Festival is an event providing young musicians with performance opportunities, also awarding deserving groups with Gold, Silver, or Bronze based on their adjudicated performance.

Rondalla has performed and showcased their outstanding talent at several esteemed venues, such as the University of NSW Sir John Clancy Auditorium, Maritime Museum, Chatswood Concourse, and lastly, the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall. The awarding ceremony that followed was held at the Sydney Town Hall.

Their performances included Alvamar Overture arr. by Elaine Espejo Cajucom, Palladio arr. by Elaine Espejo Cajucom, Gabi ng Mga Aswang arr. by Christi Anne Castro, and many more pieces, well-received by the audience. Prior to this, they had previously earned Gold Awards in the Pacific Basin International Music Festival (PBIMF) 2023 Hawaii, and Los Angeles “Sounds of Summer” Music Festival.

The group is led by Mr. Philip Dagang, Rondalla Conductor, Ms. Adrienne Zaballero, Humanities Chair, and Mr. Daryl Galicia, Music Unit Head (AY24-25)..
