The De La Salle Santiago Zobel (DLSZ) Grade School Football Team secured a historic achievement on January 16, 2025, as they emerged victorious at the Muntinlupa Meet 2025, a key qualifying tournament for the Palaro 2025, held at their home court, the newly upgraded Julius K. Quiambao Football Field.
Coming off a clean-sheet win at the PRISAA 2024 Championship, the team continued their dominance with a flawless performance at the Muntinlupa Meet. In Game 1, they defeated their opponents 8-0, with the first goal by Keith Zachary David, followed by a series of contributions from Madrid, Begre, Sarmiento, Jimenez, Bocobo, and Salud. Game 2 followed with a 3-0 win, thanks to goals from Miguel Iñigo Villon, Sarmiento, and Aldeguer.
Just a month earlier, on December 19, 2024, the team had already made history, clinching the Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) 2024 Championship in a thrilling match against Southridge. Played at the Football Turf of Paref Southridge School in Muntinlupa City, this victory marked their impressive 3-peat championship, a testament to their teamwork, resilience, and relentless determination.
The 1-hour match was a fierce battle, ending in a 0-0 draw. Southridge relied on long passes, but DLSZ’s defense held firm, preventing any major threats. On offense, DLSZ attacked relentlessly from all angles, but Southridge’s goalkeeper denied every attempt.
As the match went into extra time, the tension was palpable. With just moments to spare, a game-changing play unfolded: Montrel Iñaki Villon sent a long pass to his twin brother, Miguel Iñigo Villon, who made a swift one-touch finish that found the back of the net. The goal was unstoppable, and the crowd erupted in a wave of celebration as DLSZ sealed the victory!
