In celebration of International Women’s Month, DLSZ congratulates selected DLSZ students also called as “DLSZ TEAM A” for bagging the BEST PROTOTYPE (Junior Division) in the Hackathon for Girls 2024 held last February 3 – March 9, 2024, at Uptown Mall BGC, Accenture, Taguig City.

Hackathon for Girls is an initiative by Accenture Philippines, one of the largest IT companies in the Philippines, and Purposeful Mochi, an organization that promotes the harnessing of information for innovations to inspire young girls to pursue STEM careers through delving into the world of coding and software development.

Below is the list of Awardees:

Sarah Sophia Cabodil (DLSZ 2029)

Angela Faith Castillo (DLSZ 2030)

Ivanna-moriah Mortel (DLSZ 2030)

Amanda Reign Ramos (DLSZ 2028)

This is a month-long event that started last February 3 through a pre-hackathon session that exposes young girls to research papers, delivering a pitch, using AI, and developing and deploying a prototype or application to solve various real-world problems in line with the theme. The year 2 hackathon’s theme was Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges in specific with Inclusivity, Interconnectivity, Mental health, and Unemployment.

DLSZ Team A focused on the theme of unemployment and mental health, as the team found out that unemployment has a strong correlation with higher levels of anxiety and depressive symptoms.

The solution that they came up with is TASKMATCH: WORK IN TUNITY AS A COMMUNITY. TaskMatch is a mobile app designed to break down barriers between marginalized individuals and job opportunities, aiming to enhance mental well-being and overall quality of life.

They submitted their entry through a video pitch and demonstration. Out of more than 100 participants and entries, they successfully entered the finals in which they presented their pitch at Uptown Mall BGC, Accenture, Taguig City, Philippines and was hailed as Best Prototype.
