DLSZ proudly recognizes the achievements of our Goals for Excellence in Mathematics (GEM) Mathletes in the recent Association of Science and Mathematics Educators of Public and Private Schools (ASMEPPS) Regional Math Quiz held last October 14, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi College, Bacoor, for Region IV-A and October 21, 2023 during the subsequent online competition for the other regions nationwide.

The GEM Mathletes’ hard work and indomitable prowess have brought success and honor to our school.
Among the notable performers, Jacob Bernas (DLSZ 2026) excelled, taking first place not just in the National Capital Region (NCR) but also among all regions, outperforming 135 other contestants from throughout the nation. Elisha John Capule (DLSZ 2028) also won first place in Region IV-A’s Grade 8 division. All other qualifiers are scheduled to compete in the upcoming National Math Quiz, which will be held at the University of Baguio on March 9-10, 2024.
These young intellectuals showcased their mathematical expertise and unwavering competitive spirit. This astounding achievement highlights the students’ commitment to excellence and serves as a testament to their exceptional skills developed and nurtured under the guidance provided by their dedicated GEM coaches.
