Congratulations to the DLSZ Fencing Athletes for winning Gold and Silver Medals in the Southeast Asia Fencing Federation Championships (SEAFF) 2023 held last January 5- 13, 2023 at the Arena Tan Sri Hamzah OCM, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Women’s Foil Junior Team Event
- Gold medal – Miyake Capina (DLSZ 2027) and Martina Jene Baccay (DLSZ 2027)
Women’s Epee Junior Team Event
- Silver medal – Martina Jene Baccay(DLSZ 2027)
Women’s Foil Senior Team Event
- Bronze medal- Mikaye Capina (DLSZ 2027)
The Philippines Women’s Junior Foil Team defeated the host country, Malaysia, in the semifinals, with a score of 45-30. Afterward, they won the gold medal by defeating the Indonesian team, with a score of 45-29.
The Philippine team consists of Miyake Capina (DLSZ 2027) and Martina Baccay (DLSZ 2027) and Jannah Allysah Catantan (UST), and Hannah Belarmino (Homeschool Global). Fencers from Indonesia, Brunei, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines participated in SEAFF 2023.
