Invitation to Us Today: A Spark of Creativity and Himig Lasalyano (Arts Month Exhibit and Music Concert)

February is National Arts Month and the Cultural Affairs Office is happy to share with you some activities that are geared toward showcasing and honing the artistic talent of our Lasallians.
Get inspired with Us Today: A Spark of Creativity exhibit where we feature the works of retired art teacher and now a full-time artist, Mr. Rolly Delos Santos, joined by his former students, now alumni artists, who started their passion for art in DLSZ. Their early connection as mentor-mentees helped move them into their respective art fields where they continue to create success.
The exhibit opening is on Monday, January 30 at 10:00 am at the CPA lobby,  viewing days are January 30 – February 3 at the CPA lobby and from February 8 – 28 at the Spark Museum.

Guest visual artists, Jeska Barayuga and Ireland Diano welcome all students who want to flex their creative skills in crafting, drawing, and painting on February 1, 2023. Just Craft! with teacher Jeska is a fun arts and crafts workshop for Grades 1-6 at 10:00 am, and for Grades 7-12 at 1:00 pm at the CPA Mezzanine. Level up your skills with step-by-step guidance from teacher Ireland at the Spark Museum’s Drawing and Painting Session. This will be at 10:00 am at the Spark Museum, lower ground. St. La Salle Building. Registration for both events is required.

Ending the arts month with great performances from our music groups in a fundraising collaboration concert. The series of shows, Himig Lasalyano, features the DLSZ Chorale, DLSZ Symphonic Band, DLSZ Strings, DLSZ Rondalla, Musikawayan, and Rak. Free community show for students and Lasallian partners on February 23-24, 2023, and ticketed for guests on February 24, gala at 5:00 pm, and February 25, matinee at 3:00 pm at the Sylvia P. Lina Theater, Center for Performing Art building.

Ticket sales will benefit DLSZ Rondalla and Strings students participating in the Pacific Basin International Music Festival (March 2023 – Honolulu, Hawaii) and Summa Cum Laude Music Festival (June 2023 – Vienna, Austria) respectively.
