DLSZ Symphonic Band members win 1st place in the Asian Music Games 2022

Congratulations to the DLSZ Symphonic Band members for winning first (1st) place in the Asian Music Games 2022 which held its awarding online last December 31, 2022, via YouTube. Out of the 224 participants who joined from Asian countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines, our Lasallians bested their peers in the following respective categories:

  • Hannah Thea Resurreccion (DLSZ 2025)  – Wind Solo Flute/Picolo Senior Category
  • Catherine Benito, 10B (DLSZ 2025) – Wind Solo Clarinet/Bass Clarinet Senior Category
  • Mr. Linwell Lalic, conductor – Wind Solo Mellophone / French Horn Open Category

The Asian Music Games is one of the flagship events of the Asian Marching Band Confederation™ (AMBC) which promises to be the Biggest Virtual Music and Visual competition that organizes and presents individual, duet and group performances in various categories.

Further, in their interview with Manila Times, the members share also their experience in the Los Angeles International Music Festival and winning the Gold Award held last June 18, 2018. I was so grateful I got to have an experience like LA because I was with my friends and my group, and we would do everything together, from practicing until exhaustion to celebrating a job well done, especially after we got gold. But I think even without an award, I would still be so incredibly thankful to experience such a big journey,” Catherine shares.

Hannah affirms the same experience because their hard work paved off when they received the award. “We had finally reached the top of the mountain, but our journey is not yet over.”

Mr. Lalic said that he does not just motivate his students to excel in their chosen art form but instead, inspires them by showing the fruits of their hard work and being an example/role model to our students.

Congratulations, our dear Lasallians! Animo La Salle!
