DLSZ BASEBALL PLAYERS WIN 3rd IN AN INTERNATIONAL BASEBALL TOURNAMENT

Twelve (12) young Lasallian baseball players, under the team “Arrows” reunite and clinched 3rd place in the recently concluded Turkey Tournament 2022, 10-Under Division.

The Alabang Country Club field was flocked with baseball teams representing Muntinlupa City, Hong Kong, Tanauan (Batangas), Dasmariñas (Cavite), and Samurai (hailing from different cities in NCR) on November 24 to 27, to play in the annual baseball cup, “Turkey Tournament.”

This international competition is hosted by the Singapore American School, usually held during the American Thanksgiving weekend, hence the coined name “Turkey” in the tournament title.

The former coach-pitch division team comprising of the same players, last played together for DLSZ in Kapatiran Cup 2020 where they were held champs. The boys had the chance to reunite and once more don the green and white, forming the team “Arrows,” a salute to their beloved alma mater.

Their head coach, Gil Encarnado, Jr. has to say this about his players, “When those boys step on the field, puso ang nananaig! Play after play, under tremendous heat, amidst the rain and muddy fields, through tears in losses, cheers in wins, they all gave their best. Their 3rd place finish is like a championship for me. I’m so proud of all of them!”
