Our very own sophomore student, Janus de Guzman (DLSZ 2016), donated his entire winnings at the 42nd Philippine International Open championships to the victims of Typhoon Yolanda.
Janus finished third and earned P10,000 in the said tournament. He may be one of the youngest bowlers in the 40-man field but it did not stop him from beating other contenders.
His little act of kindness will surely make a big difference to the lives of the survivors displaced in the cities of Visayas. In fulfillment of St. John Baptist de La Salle’s mission, Janus’ generosity reveals that young people are starting to respond to the needs of “the lost, the least, and the lastâ€.
Your DLSZ family applauds your goodwill, Janus! May you continue to carry out this kind deed.
“Only if we understand, can we care.
Only if we care, will we help.
Only if we help, shall all be saved.â€
