Students Compete in FedEx/Junior Achievement International Trade Challenge 2013

This year, DLSZ formed two teams to participate in the challenge (LOCAL COMPETITION).
Team 1: Anthony Loreso M. Aguillo (DLSZ 2014) and Katrina Isabel C. Elicaño (DLSZ 2014)
Team 2: Nicole Kate P. Tan (DLSZ 2014) and Veronica Elaine S. Suarez (DLSZ 2014)
Last July 12, 2013, students submitted their business plan (Market Entry Strategy Plan) to Junior Achievement of the Philippines, Inc. (JAPI). And on July 19, 2013 BOTH DLSZ TEAMS MADE IT TO THE TOP 25 OUT OF 131 TEAMS from several schools from Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
On the same day, JAPI announced that DLSZ Team 1 (Aguillo and Elicano) made it to the FINAL TOP 10 TEAMS, who will orally defend their business plans to selected judges.
The Oral Presentation of the TOP 10 TEAMS (Local Competition) and Awarding was held last August 2, 2013 (Friday) at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business in Rockwell, Makati City. DLSZ TEAM WON 1ST PLACE , ICA Greenhills landed 2nd place, and Manila Science is the 3rd placer. These teams were sent to represent the Philippines in the International Trade Challenge Regional Competition in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong from August 18-22 to compete against teams from the other 8 countries. DLSZ Team did not win but we still want to acknowledge the students for jobs well done.
The International Trade Challenge is a yearly competition sponsored by Junior Achievement and FedEx. It is designed to engage young people from nine countries in the creation of international market entry-strategy plans. Through the International Trade Challenge, students will work in teams to create international market entry-strategy plans for variety of products. Winners from participating countries will have the opportunity to travel to different host countries each year and compete with other winning teams from the Asia-Pacific region. The Junior Achievement host country for 2013 is Hong Kong.
Eligibility is limited to student teams from Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam that have been declared winners in their LOCAL COMPETITION (International Trade Challenge Business Planning Competition) during 2013 – 2014 academic year. Each country is limited to sending three teams of two students each.
