De La Salle Santiago Zobel grabbed 2nd place overall in the recently concluded EConvergence 2012 held last February 11, 2012 at University of the Philippines, Los Baños (UPLB).  The contest was participated in by 19 schools in Metro Manila and South Luzon including Ateneo de Manila High School, Philippine Science HS, UP Integrated, Paref Southridge and Claret School.
This year’s EConvergence is guided by the theme Renewable Energy:  Fueling a Go Green Economic Movement.   Anthony Aguillo (DLSZ 2014) and Trina Francesca Pagtakhan (DLSZ 2015) both won 1st place in the Impromptu Speaking and Poster-making contests respectively while our debate team namely Michael Anthony Abala (DLSZ 2015) and Angela Francine Malantic (DLSZ 2013) won 2nd place in the Intellectual Encounter Debate Finals.
Other students also contributed to the overall score of the team. These are Jose Agustin Crisiostomo (DLSZ 2013) for essay writing, Christine Lois Fernandez (DLSZ 2013), Paul Isaac Sto. Domingo (DLSZ 2013), Edgardo Joaquin Sevilla (DLSZ 2013) for EKONOMIKA Quiz Contest and Darlene Hannah Nolasco (DLSZ 2013) for photo essay contest.
EConvergence is an annual activity of the UPLB Economics Society under the university’s Department of Economics.
