DLSZ Students Explore Future Technologies, Innovation Pathways, and Global Citizenship in Tokyo SEEd Program

70 students from De La Salle Santiago Zobel School (DLSZ) participated in the STEM Executive Education (SEEd) Program, from May 10 to 15, 2026 in Tokyo, Japan.

Anchored on the theme “Future Technologies, Innovation Pathways, and Global Citizenship,” the six-day program immersed students in Japan’s advancements in STEM while promoting cultural appreciation and global awareness.

The journey began with an exploration of Odaiba, followed by a welcome dinner. Students then experienced Japan’s rich heritage through a kimono activity and a visit to the historic Asakusa district, including the famous Senso-ji Temple and Nakamise Street.

A visit to Miraikan introduced participants to innovations in robotics, artificial intelligence, space exploration, and sustainability. In Tsukuba Science City, students explored emerging technologies at Cyberdyne Studio, where they learned about the Hybrid Assistive Limb (HAL) system and its applications in healthcare.

The learning experience continued at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and the Geological Museum, where students examined developments in energy, environmental science, and industrial research. A lecture on renewable energy further highlighted the role of innovation in building a sustainable future.

Among the program’s highlights were visits to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and KEK, where students gained firsthand exposure to space research and particle physics, inspiring many to pursue future careers in STEM.

The program concluded with a certificate awarding ceremony and farewell dinner, celebrating the students’ achievements and growth throughout the experience. Participants also enjoyed a visit to Tokyo DisneySea, appreciating the creativity, engineering, and technological innovation behind one of the world’s most celebrated theme parks.
