DLSZ FENCING TEAM SECURES PODIUM FINISHES AT PFA 3RD LEG RANKING

The DLSZ Fencing community proudly celebrates the achievements of Vito Coching (DLSZ 2026) and Miyake Capina (DLSZ 2027) at the Philippine Fencing Association (PFA) 3rd Leg Ranking Junior & Cadet last August 16 to 17, 2025 at the PhilSports Arena, Pasig City, where both athletes delivered podium finishes in multiple events.

On the international stage, Miyake proudly represented the Philippines in the Asian Cadet Cup series:

  • Malaysia – Team – Bronze; Individual Rank 16th
  • Taiwan – Individual Rank 13th

Her consistent performances at home and abroad reflect not only her growing experience but also her ability to adapt to different opponents and styles of play. Miyake has shown steady improvement in her tactical awareness, timing, and resilience—qualities that are crucial in high-pressure matches. Every tournament adds to her growth, bringing her closer to the level of Asia’s top cadet foilists and reinforcing her place among the region’s rising talents.

Vito delivered a standout performance in the Cadet Men’s Sabre, storming through the direct elimination rounds with focus and determination. His sharp attacks and relentless pace carried him past strong opponents, culminating in a commanding gold-medal finish. This marks a milestone in Vito’s young career, as he not only proved his ability to dominate in his own category but also built momentum heading into higher-level competitions.

He further showcased his versatility by claiming Bronze in the Junior Men’s Sabre, where he faced older and more experienced fencers yet still held his ground with resilience and tactical maturity.
