Alabang, Muntinlupa City – September 19, 2024 – De La Salle Santiago Zobel School (DLSZ) celebrated the official inauguration of the newly upgraded Julius K. Quiambao Football Field, an impressive enhancement to the school’s existing sports facilities. The event was attended by the donor, Anthony Kindangen-Quiambao, alongside his family, DLSZ 1992 batchmates, representatives from the Parents Association, Alumni Association, and key school administrators.
The inauguration opened with a warm welcome from the Senior Vice President, Rafael Javier Reloza, who shared that this upgrade is a story of celebration for the Lasallian community. He also emphasized that the new football field is FIFA-certified, a testament to the school’s commitment to providing world-class sports amenities for its students.
Following this is the Lasallian Message of the DLSZ President, Br. Bernard Oca FSC. He highlighted the importance of generosity, noting, “Christmas came in early because of the kindness of the Kindangen-Quiambao family.” Br. Bernie expressed deep gratitude for Mr. Quiambao’s invaluable contribution, which aligns with the Lasallian mission of nurturing holistic development in the students. He also shares that this initiative has strengthened a sense of community for DLSZ.
The highlight of the event was Mr. Quiambao’s heartfelt message, where he shared the story of Michelangelo’s dedication while painting the Sistine Chapel. At one point, Michelangelo noticed a small imperfection in his work, prompting someone to remark, “But no one will see it,” recognizing the difficulty of retouching or redoing such a hidden detail. Michelangelo responded, “But God sees it,” emphasizing the importance of striving for excellence, even when unnoticed. Relating this to the upgraded football field, it underscores Mr. Quiambao’s generosity and attention to detail, much like Michelangelo’s, as acts of commitment that will benefit generations of Lasallians, whether seen or unseen.
After the messages, the program proceeded to the football field with the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by the unveiling of commemorative markers. The field was then blessed by Msgr. Rufino Suplido and Fr. JP Frias, symbolizing its readiness to serve the Lasallian community. Mr. Quiambao and Br. Bernie, together with the DLSZ Football team led the first ceremonial kick to officially mark the opening of the football field.

The DLSZ Animo Squad energized the guests with a lively performance, before the formal declaration of the opening of the Julius K. Quiambao Football Field by the Sports Development Office Head, Gabriel Perfecto Mendoza.
The event was hosted by DLSZ alumnus, Anton Roxas of Batch 2004.
The inauguration of this state-of-the-art football field is a milestone for DLSZ’s sports program and reflects the school’s dedication to providing exceptional facilities for its students to excel both in academics and athletics.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our donor, Mr. Anthony K. Quiambao of the Yvonne S. Kindangen-Quiambao Foundation Inc., for making this vision a reality.

and Ruby P. Ramos of De La Salle Santiago Zobel School.
