[Updated] DLSZ celebrates National Arts Month and Beyond: Enriching Young Talents

February is National Arts Month, an opportunity to recognize the artistic achievements and contributions of individuals and communities. For us, artistic performances are seen in almost all school activities and programs throughout the year. This month, let us again highlight the creative talents of our students, local artists, and community partners. Let’s be inspired by creative expressions in visual arts, performing arts, literature, and music.

Please see posters for details.

Himig Lasalyano, March 13, Sports Pavilion (new venue)

We are delighted to invite the DLSZ community to join us for a celebration of the arts at our upcoming concert, HIMIG LASALYANO, as part of our Arts Month festivities. The event will take place at the Sports Pavilion (new venue) on March 13, 2024, with a matinee at 2:00 pm and a gala performance at 6:00 pm.

HIMIG LASALYANO is not just a concert but a meaningful collaboration between our talented student music groups and singer, songwriter, and alumnus, Miguel Mendoza. This event holds a special purpose—it serves as a fundraising concert aimed at supporting our DLSZ Rondalla and DLSZ Chorale students, who are gearing up to represent our school on prestigious international stages. Specifically, proceeds from this event will aid our students as they prepare to compete in the Los Angeles Sounds of Summer Festival (June 2024) and the Golden Voices of Barcelona International Choral Festival (July 2024), respectively.

We are committed not only to providing our students, with exceptional learning opportunities but also commit to fostering community engagement and promoting the performing arts. We believe in the transformative power of music in youth development, and we are excited to share this passion with our wider community. To this end, we would like all of you to watch this concert.
