DLSZ Grade School Baseball Team wins PRISAA 2023 Championship

The DLSZ Grade School Baseball Team clinched the PRISAA (Private Schools Athletic Association) 2023 championship and ended the 5-year drought for this league on February 26, 2023.

Hailed as “underdogs,” the PRISAA-DLSZ Grade School Baseball team competed against older players. The games were held in Alabang Country Club (ACC) on February 25 and 26, 2023 with only two schools competing: DLSZ and Southridge School.

Raw energy filled the ACC field when the DLSZ team won the second game (with a score of 17-2), after a heartbreaking loss of one point in Game 1. Non-stop cheers and chants of “Animo La Salle” motivated the young Lasallian players, even more, to make each inning count for the 3rd and final game.

Head Coach Edward Flores (DLSZ 2010) beamed with pride when his players ran toward him immediately after they scored the winning point in the final inning. “Our coaches are very proud of them! They really worked hard and earned the win.” Flores was assisted by Coaches Gil Encarnado, Jr. and Rodolfo Buena Jr.

Nadine Padilla (DLSZ 1998), the team’s parent manager, shares, “Against all odds, we won! The team played astoundingly well. They did not let anything bring them down. Their determination was pure heart.”

This PRISAA win qualifies the DLSZ Grade School Baseball Team to play in the Division Meet to determine which team will represent Muntinlupa City in the NCR Meet.

The Lasallian Community is rooting for you! We are proud of you! Animo!
