Congratulations to Aldrich Johan Kimwell (DLSZ 2027), Hyoju Jang (DLSZ 2027), Emmanuel Jace Savellano (DLSZ 2027), Chaeeun Jang (DLSZ 2025), Ma. Tricia Jasmin Ocho (DLSZ 2025), and Athena Gabrielle Kimwell (DLSZ 2025) for winning medals in the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO) held in MGC New Life Christian Academy last April 7, 2018.
Created in 2006, SASMO is one of largest math contests in Asia. It has expanded from 155 Singaporean participants in 2006 to more than 20 000 participants from 19 countries in SASMO 2016. This 2018, six of our students from the Grade School Department competed not only with students from our country but also with those from countries like Brunei, Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, and Hong Kong, to name a few. Aldrich Johan and Chaeeun won silver medals while Emmanuel Jace, Hyoju, Athena Gabrielle, and Ma. Tricia Jasmin bagged bronze medals in the said competition.
All of the winners came from the Goals for Excellence in Mathematics (GEM) Program under the Grade School Department.
