Kwentong Asyano

Synopsis

Mga Kuwentong Asyano is a colorful collection of 4 popular folk tales from all over Asia (Japan, Vietnam, Korea, Philippines) written by Carlos Palanca Awardee Rodolfo Vera and with the addition of Mariang Sinukuan, an original piece by Michelle Ngu adapted from a famous Filipino folk tale.

Each tale imparts an invaluable lesson and gives Filipino audiences a glimpse into the hearts of Asian peoples.  Mga Kuwentong Asyano makes effective use of Eastern elements in its production values, such as dances, music, costumes and performing arts traditions from Japan, Philippines, Korea, and Vietnam. The staging is notably visual and animated with animals, mythological beings, and other enchanted characters — all speaking in a language and in movements that would surely appeal to the child in all of us.
