Last September 5, Grade 9 students of DLSZ spearheaded Goodbye Gutom Project and, together with other volunteers, were able to feed 500 beneficiaries from Southville 3 Brgy. Poblacion, Muntinlupa City.
Br. Bernard S. Oca FSC, DLSZ President and Mr. Jose Luis Oquinena, Executive Director of Gawad Kaling graced the event.
Apart from the feeding program, volunteers prepared exciting activities such as games, intermission numbers and art sessions; while the parents in the community attended a wellness activity led by one of our alumni, Mr. Brian Ginete (DLSZ 2007).
A total of 87 volunteers from different sectors—DLSZ Administration, Grade 9 Students, Lasallian Partners, DLSZ Alumni Association (officers and Batch 2007), PRU Life, Gawad Kalinga and Southville 3 Barangay Officials— attended the activity.
Goodbye Gutom Project was declared a success considering the efforts and resources provided by our Grade 9 students and volunteers.
All Lasallian Partners are invited for the next Goodbye Gutom activity on October 2, 2015 (spearheaded by Grade 7) and October 10, 2015 Saturday (to be led by Grade 10).
