DLSZ Taekwondo Bags Multiple Bronzes at UAAP Season 88

Congratulations to the DLSZ Taekwondo team for showcasing competitive spirit and excellence at the UAAP Season 88 Taekwondo Championships, held from April 21–24, 2026 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium, Manila City. 

The Junior Division athletes delivered a commendable performance, bringing home multiple bronze medals across Kyorugi and Poomsae events.

In the Junior Men’s Kyorugi division, Mchraine Lloyd Velasquez (DLSZ BRafeNHS 2028) and Dranreb Marañon Jr. (DLSZ 2027) both earned bronze medals after displaying strength, agility, and determination throughout their matches. The Junior Women’s Kyorugi team also made a strong impact, with Amanda Reign Ramos (DLSZ 2028), Maria Natalia Ilas (DLSZ 2028), Pauleen Cayanan (DLSZ BRafeNHS 2031), Aleana Nicole Nicolas (DLSZ 2031), and Mary Josephine Bocaling (DLSZ 2031) each securing bronze medals– highlighting the team’s depth and resilience in a highly competitive field.

In the Poomsae events, Juana Faith Medallada (DLSZ BRafeNHS 2031) captured a bronze medal in the Junior Individual category, demonstrating precision and technical excellence. She also teamed up with Brent Jason Fortez (DLSZ 2028)  to win bronze in the Junior Mixed Pair Poomsae event. Brent continued his strong showing in the Junior Freestyle category, earning another bronze medal alongside Chloe Grace Barrenechea (DLSZ 2029), reflecting creativity, synchronization, and mastery of forms.

Supporting the medalists were dedicated participants who also represented the school with pride and determination: Paul Sebastian Alcantara (DLSZ 2029), Enrico Danz Esguerra (DLSZ 2029), Enrique Armando Ilas (DLSZ 2027), Marc Gracias (DLSZ 2029), Isabella Dominique Del Rosario (DLSZ  2026), and Alethea Hatud (DLSZ BRafeNHS 2031).

Overall, DLSZ’s performance reflects its continued commitment to excellence, discipline, and sportsmanship. The athletes’ achievements stand as a testament to their hard work and the guidance of their coaches, making the Lasallian community proud on the UAAP stage.
