The momentum shifted in the 5th inning when co-captain, Hailey Cueto (DLSZ 2029), sparked a rally with a line drive to left field, advancing to second base, followed by Erica Fischbuch (DLSZ 2028), reaching base after being hit by a pitch from Rosehill. Team Captain, Bea Biñas (DLSZ 2026) kept it alive and Rhiana Solomon (DLSZ 2026) drove in a run, igniting a 7-run inning. DLSZ added two (2) more runs each in the 6th and 7th innings to close the gap.

Hailey then took full control on the mound in the 5th, striking out her first batter on her very first pitch and delivering a perfect 6th inning with three (3) consecutive strikeouts. She held Rosehill scoreless, giving DLSZ a real chance to complete the comeback.

The defense stepped up with key plays across the field. Team captain Bea also delivered two (2) critical outs behind the plate, anchoring the defense when it mattered most. Hailey secured crucial outs at first, and Audrianna made key blocks in center field.

In a tense final inning, DLSZ loaded the bases with two (2) outs but fell short on a decisive strikeout, ending the comeback bid.

Despite a late surge, DLSZ fell just short, 11–14. Still, the game showcased their resilience and growth. Once underdogs, they have emerged as serious contenders under the guidance of Coach Tin Bautista. They demonstrated discipline, teamwork, and a competitive edge– clear signs of an even stronger comeback ahead.
