Congratulations to the research team “Egg-xit the Fire”, for earning the Overall Champion title in the SHS Research Poster Presentation during the Muntinlupa City Robotics Fair held last November 27-28, 2025 at Colegio de Muntinlupa.
Out of eight (8) teams that joined from the National Capital Region (NCR), the DLSZ team, represented by Raphael Carlos Maglutac (DLSZ 2026) and Christine Chanelle De Lemos Cajayon (DLSZ 2026), was also recognized for their exceptional communication skills, receiving the Best Presenter award for the compelling delivery of their research study entitled, “Developing an Eggshell-Derived Fire Suppressant: A Sustainable Approach to Fire Extinguisher Innovation.”
Under the guidance of research adviser Ms. Ailyn Anglo-Ojeda, the team pioneered an innovative and sustainable solution to fire safety. Their research tackles the environmental challenge of eggshell waste by converting it into a highly effective, eco-friendly fire-inhibiting agent.
Following their dominant performance in Muntinlupa, the team is set to take their study to the global stage and will present their research in Thailand on December 18-19, 2025, during the 49th World Conference on Applied Science, Engineering & Technology (WCASET). This opportunity underscores the global relevance of their work and their potential to contribute to both sustainable science and fire safety innovation.
This triumph proves the school’s commitment to rigorous scientific inquiry and its ingenuity in proposing sustainable solutions.
