The talented mathletes from De La Salle Santiago Zobel (DLSZ) Goals for Excellence in Mathematics (GEM) <\/strong>once again demonstrated their exceptional problem-solving skills, securing 1st and 2nd place in the prestigious Math Educators\u2019 Circle (MEC) – MATHinding Kompetisyon 2023 held last December 2, 2023 at the St. Scholastica\u2019s Academy, Marikina City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 31 teams from 16 schools nationwide participated in this intense battle of mathematical wits Each team, consisting of four students from different grade levels, faced the challenge in two rounds – an individual written elimination round and a team oral final round. The top 15 teams with the highest scores in the elimination round advanced to the final round and competed against each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this arena of intellectual prowess, the GEM mathletes showcased unparalleled teamwork and extraordinary mathematical skills.l The GEM mathletes are the following: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

TEAM 1 – 1st Place<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Julia Cruz (DLSZ 2026)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yunho Kim (DLSZ 2027)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Francesca Violet Icay (DLSZ 2028)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christian Malabanan (DLSZ 2029)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dedication shown by these mathletes, along with the support of the DLSZ community and the guidance of the dedicated GEM coaches, is truly inspiring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the GEM mathletes celebrate their well-deserved victory, they carry with them the torch of excellence and the spirit of dedication, paving the way for bigger and more significant competitions.
