De La Salle Santiago Zobel (DLSZ) Strings<\/strong>, the celebrated musical ensemble, achieved yet another remarkable milestone last September 18, 2023. The ensemble was accorded a momentous Senate visit<\/strong> to receive the distinguished <\/strong>19th Congress Senate Resolution 89<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The resolution commends and congratulates DLSZ Strings for their victories at the 15th Summa Cum Laude (SCL) International Youth Music Festival and the 2023 Bratislava Youth Music Festival Competition in Europe last July 2023.<\/strong> The Senate’s unanimous vote<\/em><\/strong> <\/strong>on the resolution was a resounding affirmation of their commitment to musical excellence and their representation of the Philippines on the global stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Senate ceremony, DLSZ Strings captivated the audience with two performances. They began with the Philippine national anthem, “Lupang Hinirang,”<\/strong> symbolizing their deep patriotism. Afterward, they serenaded the audience with one of their award-winning competition pieces<\/em><\/strong>, “Tatlong Awiting Pilipino,”<\/strong> arranged by Rommel Camba.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DLSZ Strings was led by Mr. Leopoldo Sumera Jr.<\/strong> as the conductor, along with  Ms. Shelly Isaga<\/strong> (Strings Teacher), Mr. Daryl Galicia<\/strong> (Music Unit Head), and Ms. Lynette Feliciano<\/strong> (Cultural Affairs Office Head), comprised of selected High School students enrolled in the Special Music program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Senate ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Br. Martin Sellner FSC<\/strong> (Lasallian Animator), Mr. Rafael Reloza<\/strong> (Senior Vice President), Ms. Ruby Ramos<\/strong> (School Principal), and Mr. JayJay Jacinto (LFMD Director)<\/strong>, DLSZ Strings would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Senator Risa Hontiveros<\/strong>, the main author of the resolution<\/em><\/strong>, for recognizing their talent and inviting them to the Senate. They also extend their warm thanks to the supportive parents of DLSZ Strings, whose unwavering encouragement and support have been instrumental in their musical journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This recognition is a testament to the power of music to unite, inspire, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines on the global stage. Their dedication and passion for music have brought immense pride to DLSZ and the entire nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
